Maganetti’s LNG fleet gets on the sustainable logistics radar. Our project is part of an initiative of the Green Transition Hub of LIUC University in Castellanza, an interactive map that gathers actions and programs for sustainable logistics that Italian and international companies have implemented successfully. The goal is to create a repository of technological and organizational solutions, keeping it up-to-date to provide useful information and to disseminate a culture of sustainability in our industry.
Companies' projects are grouped by thematic areas, from alternative fuels to electric vehicles, from organizational changes to innovative packaging and storage, or solutions using energy from renewable sources. For each category, Green Logistics Radar presents a summary with the main points, an annotated list of solutions implemented by the companies, an analysis of benefits and obstacles and the case histories of individual projects.
The database can be consulted by category or through an interactive map, divided into three areas: transport and distribution, warehouses and intra-logistics, packaging and loading units. An advisory board with researchers and university lecturers, representatives of industry associations and company executives evaluates and validates the projects that get included in the repository.
During 2024 the team working on the Green Logistics Radar surveyed and analyzed about a hundred projects in the different areas: Maganetti is on the radar with the project with Sanpellegrino-Nestlè and Cooperativa Speranza to produce bio-LNG for our vehicles. The process that turns farm waste into the biomethane that powers our trucks is carbon negative, as certified by CNR: using bio-LNG allows us to reduce by 104% the emissions of CO2e, by 95% those of particulates and by 70% those of nitrogen oxides, as highlighted during the presentation of the Green Logistics Radar.
Alongside LIUC University, we hope this information will be a useful tool to implement new solutions towards sustainability and to work together on decarbonization processes.
