Our new LNG refueling station in Carpiano is ready: at first it will operate for Maganetti trucks, but soon all vehicles will be able to use the facility. The building works are done and we’re finalising technical tests and all the paperwork required by current regulations. It’s an important accomplishment for Maganetti Group: our first station in Gera Lario is working at full capacity and we’re now able to add another station, in a strategic position for our company.
The new station in Carpiano has 6 refueling points for methane-powered trucks and vehicles, with a self-service system like in Gera to guarantee 24/7 operations. Availability and simplicity of service are a very important factor to facilitate the use of vehicles powered with LNG, as confirmed by what we see every day in Gera.
Carpiano will distribute LNG from different sources: a share will be biomethane from animal waste, produced by Cooperativa Speranza with our ongoing project. We aim to progressively increase the percentage of LNG from renewable sources, a crucial step to decarbonise our fleet: as clearly stated by the European Union, biomethane can play a key role in reducing climate-altering emissions in our industry.
We’re working to complete all paperwork and bureaucratic procedures to open the station to the public as soon as possible. This project aims to upgrade a key service for our fleet of 60 LNG-powered trucks, but we’re also willing to help strengthen the public network of methane refueling stations, with a safe and convenient system.
